March 3, 2010 - Affordable Health Coverage for All Pennsylvanians
Dr. Dwight Michael, Gettysburg family physician, and Chuck Pennacchio,
Executive Director of Health Care for All PA, with a check for $2.3
billion, representing the savings to Pennsylvania governments,
businesses, and individuals with the comprehensive, publicly financed
and privately delivered health care reform now being considered in the
state legislature. Michael and Pennacchio presented the plan to about
seventy area residents at a forum sponsored by Gettysburg Area Democracy
for American on Wednesday evening, March 3 at the Lutheran Seminary in Gettysburg.
December 2, 2009 - Service Committee Blanket Drive
Elaine Jones, Gettysburg Democracy for America Chair, and Denise Weldon-Siviy, Service Committee Chair, celebrate with blanket donors at Wednesday night’s DFA meeting at the Lutheran Seminary. The Community Service Committee of Gettysburg Area DFA has already gathered more than sixty-five blankets in its drive to collect new and “gently used” blankets for area families in need. The blanket drive will continue through Friday, December 11. Blankets can be dropped off at Musselman Library at Gettysburg College or at the Weldon-Siviy home at 129 Lincoln Avenue in Gettysburg. Wednesday, June 2nd at 6:30 p.m. - DFA Meet-Up Picnic at Joe Breighner's home
Are you tired of the Tea Party Gang and the Immigration nonsense? Ready to have some fun?
Join us for an "Arizona Papers Please Picnic" on Wednesday, June 2nd at 6:30 pm in Joe Breighner's garden on the Fairfield Road!
It's a potluck picnic. Just bring your family, your favorite dish, your legal and illegal friends, and your papers (real or fake). We will provide a main dish, water. cider and place settings.

DFA is taking a summer break, so this will be our last formal Meetup until September. You are invited to join our Steering Committee meetings in July and August for planning and grassroots strategizing every third Wednesday at the Seminary in Valentine 310. All are welcome!
